that day (5) – the wedding cake

the buffet of afternoon sweets had been sponsored

by hands right there with us,

but the highlight among the creations

was made by my one and only

youngest sister.

she’d spent much mathematics,

a few days,

many shopping sprees,

boundless creativity,

and so much professional aptitude

to bake the quintessential wedding cake:

one side sprinkled with pistachios,

the other side made of layers

of coffee, fluff and chocolate,

the massive heart was lastly covered

in a light strawberry coat

and tasted:

simply heavenly.

her boyfriend had handwritten our names

in the most flavorful dark chocolate

and completed the piece of art.

a cup of fresh, steaming coffee

and a few sweet bites later,

our celebration was well under way.
