Unterbacher See


the world through

two pair of eyes

is four-fold beautiful,

as logics and artistries

—two of each—

hike along the horizon,

measuring the distances

above and below.


So the pull is strong and vertical

between my eyes and yours

and the magnetism glues our views

into a memory, at last.


But there are other nights,

—like this—

when the circumstance is such

that only I am out there,

by myself,

and only my pair wanders

these many ways of the world.


And then the view seems pure

and perhaps a lot more fleeting

as this time, negotiating quit,

and witnessing came home.
