something_s we make

So Timothy also needed a mentor once.

Paul was just in town and took him under

his wing, this stellar young man with

great ambitions and even greater promises.

Paul tells the young man about three

professions and how they take our all:

the challenges of the soldier, of the athlete,

and of the farmer are all the same in that these

workers desire reaping the fruit but

need to work, work hard for every drop.

And as any good mentor would assure:

this is normal! In any profession and for any

purpose, hard work is the foundation! Only

this way you achieve your goal, reach your

season of harvest! Work is the investment we

make! But then, as any spiritual person would,

Paul also reminded Timothy: while your fight

is real, and our investment a great, great

benefit for the world, someone already did it

for you, for all of us.

Yes, our fight is real, but we always have someone

to lean on when things get tough. And that

shoulder is tougher. Tough as steel and as

soft as the sands on our shores.

And it’s always there.
