Out of the Ordinary

One day after the other

One falls deeper into The Routine

The Daily Routine

of Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays and Fridays and Weekends

– a tight, strict, closed regiment regulated and ruled by agendas and clocks that watch.

Today, the agenda said “It’s a Special Day!”

We were supposed to  make it special, feel special.

But it takes more

rays of sunshine

to get away from the agenda and the clock and

to open the blinds,

make the blind see

that there is a More, out there, out of the ordinary.

Out there,

away from the noise, the stiffness, the  No’s,

in the land of beauty, spontaneity, freedom, pureness, timelessness, togetherness,

– in the land where picking flowers is not a waste of time –

there is joy.

Luckily, we have each other to hold hands

and make the plunge into the torrents of life.

So we jump

on this Monday,

even though we are not supposed to.

just because it’s a special day.
